Purpose & Significance

The panel discussion was held with leading experts in their fields. OzU members, particularly students, had the opportunity to gain insights about the implications of the current international developments on Turkey’s foreign policy.

General Information

Organized by our Department of International Relations, the panel discussion featured esteemed ambassador Mr. Ümit Pamir, Emeritus Professor İlter Turan from Bilgi University, and Sedat Ergin, columnist at Hurriyet, as invited panelists. Ambassador Mr. Ümit Pamir talked about the shift of direction in the international system, while Prof. İlter Turan shared his opinions about Turkey’s position in the world and the transformation of the Turkish foreign policy amidst the major global changes. Finally, Sedat Ergin discussed the role of Turkey in the Syrian crisis.
