Purpose & Significance

The “Women Rectors in Turkey” meeting and panel discussion was held with the aim of discussing future projects to pave the way for women to have a larger presence in education, health, politics, and business, and to prevent misogyny in society.

Generel Information

* The European Women Rectors Association (EWORA) organizes regional meetings with the goal of developing new strategies to increase the number of women leaders in the Turkish academia.
* The meetings have been bringing together former and current rectors in Turkey since 2017. The third meeting took place at Özyeğin University.
* On the same day, Özyeğin University also played host to the panel discussion “Gender Mainstreaming Actions and Plans of Universities in Turkey” with academics from both Özyeğin University and other universities.
